Mango is considered the queen of fruits in tropical and subtropical regions. It is of high nutritional value because it is rich in nutrients, and contains vitamins, proteins, fats, malic acids, citric and carotene.
Mango is of great economic importance and ranks third in trade after citrus and grapes.
The mango tree is an evergreen tree that varies in its shape and height, depending on the varieties, the soil planted in it, and the method of propagation. The trees may be standing, spreading, drooping or creeping, and they may be short or high. The growth of trees may reach a very large degree if they are planted in deep and fertile ground, as well as if seeds are used. As a means of propagation, the height of trees may reach 30 meters. As for the grafted trees, as well as those growing in poor soil, they do not reach such a height.
